A new Minnesota law was passed this year that requires coaches to attend training on recognizing the symptoms of concussions and when symptoms exist to remove the players from competition until a trained medical professional clears the player for competition.

To help ensure the health and safety of young athletes, CDC (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention) developed the Heads Up: Concussion in Youth Sports initiative to offer information about concussions to coaches, parents, and athletes involved in youth sports.
